UK Foreign Secretary, Boris Johnson, visited Blue Skies Ghana this month as part of a short tour of West Africa.
Mr. Johnson spent just over an hour at Blue Skies where he received a tour of the factory and spoke with Blue Skies Chairman Anthony Pile about the history of the company, its achievements and challenges. He was accompanied by the British High Commissioner, Jon Benjamin, UK Trade Envoy to Ghana, Adam Afriyie and Ghana’s Minister for Trade and Industry Alan Kyerematen.
Blue Skies is seen as a model for development in Africa having grown to employ nearly 4,000 at its factory in Ghana thanks to the company’s commitment to delivering fresh from harvest prepared fruit, value added at source.
