Abortia Junction is a small community of around 700 residents located in the Volta Region of Ghana and is home to a number of mango farmers. It is situated close to the village of Abortia where the Blue Skies Foundation provided a classroom block for their primary school in 2011. Previously this community did not have a public place of convenience and as a result they experienced outbreaks of communicable diseases. A request was therefore made to the Blue Skies Foundation for a 10-seater KVIP latrine to help improve the health status of the community.
Work started on this project in February 2014 and was completed by June the same year.
